David Ballinger of Staverton Flyers opened their account with a 14 spare to give them a 1st hand of 31 and a lead of 11 pins into the 2nd hand.   Keith Hawkes of Black Abbotts floored a 13 spare in the 3rd hand to help pull back pins and just 2 pins down going into the second half.   Rob Thornton scored a 10 spare in the 4th hand for Staverton Flyers to give them a 5 pin lead into the 5th hand.   At the end of this leg it was all square.

At halfway stage Staverton Flyers took an 11 pin lead on this leg.   A 12 spare by Neil Parkes of Stverton Flyers in the 5th hand and a total 29 hand gave them a 20 pin lead into the last hand.   An 11 spare by Tony Byrne gave them a 24 hand then Wayne Ryder of Black Abbotts floored a 14 spare to give them a 30 hand but still leaving them 14 pins down going into the 3rd leg.

Ron Gough stepped up in the first hand and floored a 14 spare to give them an 11 pin lead in this leg going into the 2nd hand.   Rich Mabbett of Black Abbotts floored a 14 spare in the second hand to give them a 15 pin lead into the 3rd hand.   Mike Parkes of Staverton Flyers scored an 11 spare in the 3rd hand and Rich Mabbe of Black Abbotts floored a 16 spare to give them a 20 pin lead in this leg (6 pin overall lead in the game).   Malcolm Swain of Black Abbotts floored a 16 spare in the 4th hand to give them a 28 pin lead in this leg (14 pin lead overall).   At the end of this leg the Black Abbotts were 12 pins ahead going into the last leg.

In the first hand Staverton Flyers clawed back 6 pins so just 6 pins down on the game going into the 2nd hand.   Going into the 3rd hand Staverton Flyers clawed back a further 4 pins so now just 2 pins separate them.  Going into the second half the Flyers were just 1 pin down on the game.
