Wednesday 19th January saw the Bluebelles at home to the Halfpennies, on their newly refurbished Alley, (Hillview Community Centre) when just finishing off their first leg they received a surprise visit from Tony Meadows (Chairman) Charmian Sheppard (Hon. Secretary) Wendy Harris (Exec Committee Member) and Phil Judge (Webmaster).

A startling but nice surprise, for one member of the Bluebelles – Eileen Hall – who has played skittles for 50+ years within the same team. Formerly called the Rolling Gonks, and now Bluebelles, Eileen has been an integral member of the team – having been Captain several times, as well as top of the averages during some seasons, and remains the player her own team like to try and keep up with.

Tony, who it turned out had worked with Eileen in the past, presented her with a Glass Memento and Certificate of Congratulations.

Eileen joins three other team members who have clocked up 50+ years - Marion Field, Mary Davis and Shirley Brimfield – who all received a surprise visit last season, all of whom confirmed that their Skittling Nights remain great fun and will expect the Committee to turn out for their next milestone……………

Members of the Committee chatted to other skittlers present before leaving the teams to complete their match.
